I never worked on a real console before, but the "console workflow" in Mixbus 32c feels good to me. With just a little bit of drive, everything sent to the bus sort of gels together nicely. The saturation on the busses sounds good to my ears. I could see myself using Reaper creatively but exporting all the tracks into Mixbus for finishing a mix. In Mixbus 32c, the workflow seems to encourage me toward getting a mix done quickly. I'm also a big Reaper fan, but the endless potential in Reaper causes me to overcomplicate my mixes. (Imagine not needing any VSTs for EQ or compression - just your more specialized effects!) Having EQ & compression on every track with easy access means you can focus on the sound more quickly without opening a ton of VST windows. The magic of Mixbus 32c is that it's fun to work in and sounds great. (I had issues with the V6 demo a year ago, but not V7.) I worked on a mix for several hours without saving, with all EQ, compression, and saturation enabled and enough VSTs to push the limits to ~90%. Install was easy and it seems stable on my machine. I had a great time with the Mixbus 32c V7 demo tonight. Try a free demo at our Software Downloads page The upgrade price for Mixbus32C v7 is $79 from any prior version of Mixbus32C.
